Understanding test results

Every time FormStatus tests a form—either manually or automatically—it logs the result as Passed or Failed. This helps you clearly understand whether your form is working correctly or needs attention.

Where to find test results

You can view all test results in the View Log Form in your FormStatus dashboard. Each entry includes:

  • The name of the form tested and its page URL
  • Status: Passed or Failed
  • SSL Check Status: Passed or Failed
  • Form Submit Check Status: Passed or Failed
  • Email Check Status: Passed or Failed
  • Last Checked

Click on the + entry to view more detailed information about that test.

Understanding the results

Test result: Passed ✅

A Passed test result means:

  • The form was submitted successfully
  • A confirmation message or redirect was detected
  • SSL security has been verified
  • The expected email notification was received by FormStatus

What this means:

Your form is functioning correctly. No further action is needed.

Test result: Failed 🔴

A Failed result means that one or more of the following checks did not complete successfully:

  • The form could not be submitted
  • The confirmation step was not detected
  • SSL verification has failed
  • The email notification was not received

What this means:

Your form may not be delivering messages or accepting submissions as expected. This could be caused by:

  • Plugin or theme updates
  • Changes to the form structure or required fields
  • Email delivery issues (e.g., SMTP configuration, spam filters)
  • Conflicts with other plugins or scripts
  • SSL misconfiguration or none at all

We recommend reviewing the test details and running a manual test after resolving any suspected issues.

Reviewing test details

Click “View Details” next to any test result to see:

  • The form details

  • A screen recording

  • SSL details

  • Email details

These insights can help you or your developer identify and fix problems quickly.
